A personnel rotation has taken place in the management of the main military unit of Transcarpathia and one of the most famous brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the legendary "Iron" 128th separate mountain infantry brigade. Instead of the Hero of Ukraine Serhiy Shaptala, it is now headed by Serhiy Sobko.
The new commander has already started performing his duties, – the brigade informed.
The newly appointed commander, the Hero of Ukraine Serhiy Sobko, commenting on his appointment, said: "It is a great honor for me to take command of the 128th brigade… I feel enormous responsibility to you and your loved ones. The exacerbation of the foreign policy situation indicates that we are facing serious challenges, that we must overcome as one the best brigades in Ukraine!"
His predecessor Serhiy Shaptala says that he is confident in the new commander of the brigade: "You are an experienced brigade hardened in battles. He is an experienced and progressive officer. Together, you will gain Victory! I am sincerely grateful to each of you for your trust, your support and valiant service!"
