The Transcarpathian Regional State Administration apologizes to the Romanian citizens, who travel through Transcarpathia to the "Bukovel" ski resort, and suffer from extortion at the police posts in Tyachiv and Rakhiv districts.
– Groundless harassment of Romanian tourists with extortion of unofficial fines (that is, bribes) have become so widespread, that they have become the subject of appeals from the Romanian consular posts to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, – Hennadiy Moskal said. – These facts have been reported to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and official investigations are being conducted, the guilty parties will be brought to justice. As a central executive authority, we are doing everything in our power to stop these disturbing incidents that hurt our region. However, if such things happen, we urge tourists from Romania to contact the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region by telephones: +38 (0312) 61-45-70, 61-59-85, to report the extortion facts to the Ministry of Internal Affairs hotline: 0-800-50-02-02 (free of charge within Ukraine), to the Department of Internal Security of the Transcarpathian regional police +38 (0312) 695-535, as well as at my e-mail:
