Transcarpathian Regional State Administration sent to the Cabinet a package of documents for the allocation of funds from the reserve fund.
The total amount of losses from the May flood exceeded half a billion hryvnia.
The regional services have determined the damages from the flood, which occurred in Transcarpathia from May 20 to May 25. The total amount of funds necessary for the restoration of social infrastructure, road and water resources is more than 500 million hryvnias.
– We managed to complete the necessary documentation very promptly – within three weeks after the disaster, – the Acting Head of the Regional State Administration Yaroslav Halas said. – Although the methodology for documenting the damage done is very complicated.
According to the reports, communal property was damaged the most. In seven districts, it is necessary to restore 204 objects at the total amount of 352.3 million hryvnias. Those are washed out roads, destroyed and damaged bank reinforcement facilities, cluttered river channels, damaged bridges, etc. Part of the money needed for that is already being allocated from the reserve funds of the regional and district budgets.
In addition to the RSA, the Road Service in Transcarpathian region and the Tisa River Basin Water Resources Management Administration appealed for funds to the state budget reserve fund, as the emergencies commissions confirmed the losses incurred and calculated the amount needed for restoration of state-owned facilities which is more than UAH 150 million. We hope that the funds will be allocated by the Cabinet promptly, and Transcarpathia will restore the damaged infrastructure until another natural disaster hits…
