The official refused to give answer to a deputy’s request

The director of the Municipal Economy Department of Uzhgorod is suspected of failure to comply with the lawful demands of a deputy of the city council. According to the press service of the prosecutor’s office in Transcarpathian region, the official refused to give answer to the information request of a deputy of Uzhgorod city council.

Law enforcement officers opened a criminal proceeding over the offense under Part 1 of Article 351 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The report states that the suspect refused to provide information with the justification that there was no cause-and-effect relationship between the interests of voters, the deputy activities of the applicant and the information requested.

 It is reported that the case is being investigated by officers of Uzhgorod police department. The suspect faces a fine or restraint of liberty for up to three years.
