At the request of the prosecutor’s office, the term of detention for the suspect in organization of the "Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia" building bombing was extended by 60 days.
On March 14, 2019, the panel of judges of the Uzhgorod City and District Court upheld the request of the prosecutor to extend the detention of the suspect in the organization of the "Society of Hungarian Culture in Transcarpathia" building bombing by 60 days without the right to be released on bail.
In the same trial, the prosecutor read the indictment, and then, at the prosecutor’s request, the court determined the amount of evidence to be investigated and the procedure of their investigation.
The incident happened on February 27 this year in Uzhgorod on Pravoslavna embankment. In particular, it was found out that an improvised explosive device, which had been planted by one of the criminals, detonated around 3 am. As a result, the windows and the facade of the building were damaged and the property in the office was completely destroyed. Nobody was injured.
A resident of Cherkasy region is accused of the organization of this crime. He was detained in August last year in Dnipropetrovsk region by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Also, the trial of the two attackers on the "Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia" continues.
Their actions are classified as preparation for sabotage, terrorist attack, acquisition, transportation of explosives without a legal permission and intentional damage to property committed by a group of individuals, the press service of the prosecutor’s office in Transcarpathian region informs.
