The study “Those who survived hell: the testimony of victims of illegal imprisonments in Donbas” will be presented in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

On Monday, November 28, in the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, there will be the presentation of the results of the monitoring study "Those who survived hell: the testimony of victims of illegal imprisonments in Donbas."
The study is based on the testimonies of those, who have been illegally held in captivity in Donetsk and Luhansk regions by illegal armed groups, the materials collected during monitoring visits to the places of captivity in the liberated territories, as well as information obtained from public authorities and from public sources.

The publication is the result of monitoring research conducted by the Coalition of NGOs and initiatives "Justice for Peace in Donbas" in close cooperation with the Commissioner of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights and is aimed at documenting evidence of serious human rights violations related to illegal imprisonment in the a of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine.
The study will be presented by:

Oleksiy Bida, the coordinator of the Center for Documentation of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights;
Ivan Almashi, the Head of the regional department of the Government Agent for the European Court of Human Rights at the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Transcarpathian region;
Boris Kondratiuk, the coordinator of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights in Uzhgorod.
The presentation of the study will be held at the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
The beginning is at 10.00.
After that, the organizers invite to the presentation of the video filmed on the basis of the study. The event will take place at 11.00 in the small hall of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
