The state will help Uzhgorod to celebrate the anniversary – Rybak

The state will assist in the development of Transcarpathia and its regional center
  

This was said by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak answering journalists’ questions about the celebration of the 1120th anniversary of Uzhgorod.

– There are anniversaries, which should be celebrated locally, and there are dates that are worth celebrating at the state level. Currently I am preparing the order to be agreed upon by all factions regarding such issues.   As for the 1120th anniversary of Uzhgorod, I will say that in the last 8-10 years I have been here more than once. I want to note that the capital of Transcarpathia is becoming better. This is the "western gate of Ukraine" and the state should facilitate the capital of Transcarpathia to become even better, to make living in Uzhgorod comfortable, – Volodymyr Rybak said.

– As for the old part of Uzhgorod, we can visit the historic quarters of Budapest, Vienna or Prague, and see how they protect the cities’ history there. Our capital city is 1120 and we have the opportunity to bring it into proper form. To ensure that all guests and residents of Transcarpathia can enjoy the ancient Uzhgorod, – the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda said.
