The State Forestry Agency has initiated a working group to address the facts of illegal logging in Transcarpathia

On behalf of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, a working group was initiated to address the information about illegal felling of trees in Transcarpathian region. This was announced by the acting head of the State Agency of Forest Resources Khrystyna Yushkevich on her Facebook page.

She noted that the requests to form a working group had been sent to the relevant authorities.

"We need to do an objective assessment of all forest enterprises. Each site will be inspected together with representatives of the police, ecologists, public and the media", – Khrystyna Yushkevich said.

Recall that the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovy presented at the meeting of the Government an interactive map of tree felling in Ukraine. Transcarpathia was the pilot region used as an example of the research method.
