Ukrainian Taras Dutka is one of the 15 winners of the International Photography Contest Wiki Loves Earth 2016. The photo depicts the most high-altitude Ukrainian structure – observatory White elephant on the Mt. Pip Ivan.
Description of the location:
Pip Ivan Chornohirsky (2028 m), Chornohora
The mountain is interesting in terms of hiking, as well as an attraction, because the most high-altitude Ukrainian building – a huge stone observatory – is located on its top.
Pip Ivan is the starting point of Chornohora ridge, which includes all the highest mountains in Ukraine – Hoverla (2061 m), Brebeneskul (2035 m), Pip Ivan Chornohirsky (2028 m), Petros (2020 m), Hutyn Tomnatyk (2016 m) and Rebra (2,001 m), the Department of tourism and resorts of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration explains.
