The investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region have completed preliminary investigation in the criminal proceedings against the organizers of the international channel of illegal smuggling of persons across the border.
It was established that four offenders would look for illegal immigrants, give them temporary housing, transport and accompany them to the border area in order to smuggle them bypassing the checkpoints.
The group planned to illegally smuggle 12 Afghan citizens and 4 Syrians. They had to bring illegal immigrants to Ukrainian-Slovak border, but were detained by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The materials of the criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Art. 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border committed by prior conspiracy) of the Criminal Code Ukraine were forwarded to Perechyn District Court in Transcarpathian region.
