UAH 110,577.9 thousand is required by the end of this year, to ensure payment of salaries to public sector employees. Additional resources of local budgets have been exhausted and it is impossible to find such funds by the end of the year.
Thus, during the first plenary meeting of the 9th session of the Regional Council, the deputies will appeal to the Government of Ukraine regarding the critical situation about the payment of wages to public sectors employees in Transcarpathia.
The draft decision posted on the site of the Regional Council reads: "The Transcarpathian Regional State Administration has repeatedly informed the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine about the lack of financial resources for payment of wages to public sector employees of the region in 2017 and the need to allocate additional resources from the state budget for these payments.
The additional need for funds at the beginning of 2017 amounted to UAH 409,400.0 thousand. During the current year, the amount has been reduced by almost half.

At present, the region is facing an extremely critical situation with payment to education and health care sector workers. The lack of budget allocations makes it impossible to pay wages and, accordingly, to register debts with the state treasury bodies. The problem is most critical in the mountainous and underpopulated districts of the region.
Taking into account the above, in order to prevent the growth of social tension and ensure the constitutional right of citizens, we ask to urgently consider the issue of the distribution of the stabilization subsidy and to provide an additional financial resource for Transcarpathian region to meet these needs," – the document reads.
