Renowned actor Jean Reno reprises his most successful role – a professional killer in the final film in his career – "The Last Step". According to the plot of the film, which is being shot in the Carpathians, the protagonist is already retired and lives alone away from civilization – this place in the movie will be a house on the shore of the Synevyr lake. However, his past will come back to haunt him.
The film’s events unfold in Canada. However, shooting will take place only in Ukraine. The scenes shot in Mizhhirya district will comprise one third of the film – including the key action and exterior scenes. The shooting in the Carpathian Mountains has been taking place for more than a week now.
The stay of the world movie star in Transcarpathia is almost over. Then the shooting will continue in Kyiv for about a month. After that, the film will be edited and prepared for the premiere, which Transcarpathians will be especially eager to see.
