This statement was made today at a press briefing in the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. According to the Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, for the past 24hrs, 109 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the region.
Oleksiy Petrov, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, told about the outbreaks of coronavirus in Perechyn, Svalyava, Khust, Velyky Berezny districts, adding that the patients are in serious condition, with complications, pneumonia, they need oxygen therapy.
He drew the attention of the administrations of shopping centers to the need to prevent crowds, to allow no more than one person per 10 meters of retail space. He added that regular raids in public places, recreation areas, markets, etc. will be conducted together with representatives of the police and the State Food and Consumer Service.
Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv noted that a negative trend in the increase of the incidence is also observed in the regional center.
Mykhailo Polyak, the chief physician of the Transcarpathian Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, noted that the deterioration of the epidemiological situation had led to a sharp increase in the number of hospitalized patients with severe disease
In particular, according to the doctor, the overcrowding of hospitals is recorded in Irshava, Khust, Svalyava districts.
Victoria Tymchyk, the Head of the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance and Prevention of Infectious Diseases of the Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, stressed that for two weeks now, record levels of not only in the number of patients but also in the number of deaths have been observed in Transcarpathia. Thus, 5 fatalities were registered in one day this week, there is no district in the region where the situation would be more or less calm.
