The Security Service Ukraine suspects a charitable foundation of separatism

The "Egan Ede" fund claim that the Security Service of Ukrain has opened a case against them for separatism. This is stated in an official statement of the charity fund "Transcarpathian Center for Economic Development "Egan Ede", which is available at the Mukachevo.net.

The fund note that the Security Service suspects them of separatism. "We regard this act as another attack against the Hungarian community of Transcarpathia," – the statement reads.

– The Transcarpathian Center for Economic Development "Egan Ede" deeply condemns that the Security Service of Ukraine initiated a criminal case against the fund on suspicion of separatism. It is disturbing that Ukraine sees the aid that comes from the EU as a threat to its territorial integrity. We regard this act as another attack against the Hungarian community of Transcarpathia.

In this regard, we draw the attention of the competent authorities to the fact that the "Transcarpathian Center for Economic Development "Egan Ede", which is an officially registered organization in Transcarpathian region, acts in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. The scope of its activities extends to entrepreneurs who live in our region, helping to ensure that the people living in ecological distress can stay and achieve prosperity on their native land.

Through the "Egan Ede" fund, Hungary provides material support to Transcarpathian Hungarians, in particular, the lending program under the so-called Egan plan.
