The Security Service of Ukraine found in Transcarpathia a batch of amber worth over 1.5 million

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine found a large batch of amber in Transcarpathian region.
At the stationary post "Nyzhni Vorota" in Volovets district, law enforcement officers found in a car more than two hundred kilograms of amber. A resident of Volyn region tried to carry it to the territory of Transcarpathia.   

The estimated cost of the stones at the black market is more than 1.5 million hryvnia.
Within the framework of a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Art. 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the pre-trial investigation continues.

Measures to expose illegal activities were conducted jointly with the police under the procedural control of the prosecutor’s office.
