In Transcarpathia, the Security Service of Ukraine jointly with the military prosecutor’s office and the Department of Internal Security of the BGS exposed the corrupt activities of two inspectors of the Mukachevo border guard detachment that were facilitating in the smuggling of amber.
Law enforcement officers arrested one of the inspectors while receiving a bribe of $ 500, and another one – when trying to illegally carry 10 kilograms of amber across the state border.
The preliminary investigation under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was opened.
