Recently the rector of UzhNU Fedir Vashchuk signed the order to close the pool in the UzhNU sports complex "Burevisnyk" that was opened with great fanfare on February 2 with the participation of the then rector of UzhNU Mykola Vehesh, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda and the mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Pogorelov.
Just to recall, in 2011 they allocated 3 million hryvnias for the reconstruction of the swimming pool. Another 382 thousand hryvnias were spent on the construction of battery electric boiler of 460 kW capacity. Thus, as they promised, the pool had to work all year round (before that it could be used only during the heating season).
The repairs were made on the condition that during the first half of the day it would be used by students and water sports groups, and another 4-5 hours will be "commercial."
