The range of affordable medicines will be expanded with 50 new drugs

The Register of medicines to be reimbursed under the "Affordable Medicines" program is planned to be expanded with at least 50 new drugs. This was announced during the teleconference with the heads of regional administrations and health departments by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rosenko and the Acting Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun.

Pavlo Rosenko reminded that the program includes 157 trade names of drugs for 21 medicines under international non-proprietary name, and by the end of July 2017, the Ministry of Health will plan to both make changes to reference prices and to expand the range of medicines. He specified that the expanded register will include drugs from 22 manufacturers from the European Union, 17 manufacturers from Ukraine and five worldwide manufacturers (mainly Israel and India).      

Currently, 6200 pharmacies participate in the government program "Affordable Medicines", over 3 million 600 thousand prescriptions have been financed, and UAH 126 million has been used.

In Transcarpathia, as of July 17, 202 pharmacy establishments are involved in the program.  Medical workers under the program "Affordable Medicines" issued 127,477 prescriptions, pharmacy institutions have submitted reports for reimbursement of the cost of medicines at UAH 4,957 thousand. 89,117 prescriptions have been redeemed. In total, 67,734 Transcarpathians benefited from the Government Program and received the necessary medicines at reduced prices, and some even for free.
