The largest producer of bread in the capital "Kyivkhlib" PJSC on November 12 raised the price of bread and long loafs by 17% and 9.7% respectively – informed "Interfax-Ukraine" with reference to the press service of the company.
As a result, the recommended retail price for bread has increased by 68 kopiykas – up to 4.68 UAH.
The price of long loaf has increased by 34 kopiykas – to 3.84 UAH.
Before that "Kyivkhlib" had appealed to the Kyiv city administration with the proposal to consider rising the price for social bread variaties.
However, the mayor hastened to assure that there are no grounds for that.
The CEO of "Kyivkhlib" Volodymyr Chereda also declared that social breads in Kyiv would not rise.
"We did not plan and do not plan to raise the price of social breads" – he insisted on November 1.
Also before the election the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov assured that the prices of essential bakery can not be increased until July 2012.
"Kyivkhlib" in January-September of 2012 received the net profit of 12.35 million hryvnias against the net loss of 8.59 million for the same period in 2011.
During this period, its gross profit increased by 21.7% – up to 321.74 million hryvnias, the operating profit – by 43.8%, to 41.35 million hryvnias.
