On Wednesday, June 24, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the weather-affected regions of Ukraine would be promptly reimbursed.
Shmyhal told journalists about this during his visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region.
"At 2 p.m., we will hold a meeting of the state commission for emergency situations, which will make appropriate decisions on initial compensation. And then, as the situation develops, we will manage it," – he said.
The Prime Minister added that by 15:00 he would provide more information at a briefing on the situation in western Ukraine.
The press service of the President’s Office reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky had instructed to first assess the scale of the damage.
"In order to help, we need to understand the scale of the damage, we need to hear people and see everything with our own eyes," – Zelensky told the head of government.
After assessing the situation this afternoon, government officials will hold a conference call with the President of Ukraine to announce the latest news, coordinate actions and organize humanitarian aid.
Recall that the day before Zelensky discussed with the government assistance to the people affected by floods and heavy precipitations, and set a task to send the humanitarian cargo to the affected regions.
