The presentation of two books will take place in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

On November 17, at 18:00, the presentation of two books will take place in the Art Center "Ilko Gallery".

The first of them – "Carpathians for three" – was published at the "Brustury", the only publishing house in Ukraine, that is registered in the village. It was founded by poet Vasyl Karpyuk, who lives in the village of Brustury. And the poetry book is a collaboration of three authors, two of whom also live in the mountains.

The first one (closest to us) is Petro Midyanka – a resident of Shyroky Luh in Transcarpathia, Shevchenko’s Prize winner. He received the award in 2012 for "Stairway to Heaven" of 2010.

The second Highlander of the "Carpathians…" is Vasyl Zelenchuk from Ivano-Frankivsk region, he is the head of the village of Kryvorivnya. He is also a Ukrainian scholar, conducts at school two literature lessons per week.  The third one is Nazar Fedorak from Lviv, candidate of philological sciences, a member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers, a poet. He studies the poetics of ancient Ukrainian literature, history of world literature of Middle Ages and Renaissance, and the history of ancient Ukrainian theater.

"Carpathians for three", the poetic quilt, that covers the mountains on three sides, will be presented by Petro Midyanka, who is the closest to us geographically and in terms of lexical coloring.
In addition, on the same evening, there will be the presentation of Lyudmila Zagoruiko’s novel in short stories "Meadow", published at the "Lira." The author was born in Uzhgorod, now lives in Shyroky Luh, and Petro Midyanka wrote about the philological result of this move: "I cannot name any other writer, who would intertwine refined Russian language with Maramures dialect so organically."
