Today, August 29, the premiere of the feature film "Ilovaysk 2014. "Donbas" Battalion" directed by Ivan Timchenko will take place in the cinemas of the country (in Uzhgorod – in the Domion cinema complex at 18.40). It was timed to mark the 5th anniversary of the Ilovaysk tragedy, in which, according to official figures, 368 Ukrainian soldiers were killed. The film also stars the actor of the Regional Musical and Drama Theater, Oleksandr Mavrits in Uzhgorod, who played the soldier with the callsign "Schultz".
Recall that the filming of the movie with the working title “Ilovaysk Story” started last year in August and ended in October. It was filmed mainly in Kyiv region by the production studio "Svitlofor – film". Screenwriter Mykhailo Brynykh was working on the script for over 2 years. Interestingly, the shooting was financed mainly by the "Donbas" fighters.
The film’s characters are veterans of the volunteer battalions. The commander of the assault group of the "Donbas" battalion with the callsign "Bishut" Taras Kostanchuk played himself. The film also stars professional actors, such as the already mentioned Oleksandr Mavrits from Uzhgorod. His Schultz is a fighter who had no fear. The actor said that the role in "Ilovaysk 2014" allowed him to realize what patriotism, war is, to see the self-sacrifice of the volunteer soldiers who continue to die for Ukraine.
