The police together with the Service for Children took children away from a resident of Mukachevo and put them to the shelter in the village of Batyovo in Beregovo district, the Depo.Zakarpattya informs.
Mukachevo Service for Children together with employees of the juvenile prevention responded to reports of concerned citizens and checked the living conditions of a large family in Mukachevo. In a three-bedroom apartment on the outskirts of the city, the police found 10 people permanently living there. The mother and six children aged 1.5 to 13 had only one room, the rest of the space was occupied by other tenants. The children were sleeping, studying and playing right on the floor.
The police and the Social Services found out that the 36-year-old woman’s lifestyle was not compatible with raising children, the mother is unemployed and abuses alcohol. She has no income at all. Because of this, her 13-year-old child has to work at the local market.
Warnings and administrative liability for improper parenting did not improve situation. During the whole past week, the woman was absent from home. The owner of the apartment had to look after the children.
The children have been taken away from the family. The eighteen-month-old girl was taken to the regional children’s hospital for examination, the rest of the children were taken to the shelter in the village of Batyovo in Beregovo district. The proceeding to deprive the mother of parental rights is to be initiated.
