During the implementation of preventive measures under the code name "Poppy", Uzhgorod police officers found a local resident with a prohibited substance.
Last night, officers of the sector to combat drug trafficking of Uzhgorod city police department noticed near one of the gas stations in the regional center a 40-year-old local resident, who, while talking to the police officers, voluntarily. in the presence of witnesses, handed over a syringe with the substance of light-brown color, similar to the synthetic opium drugs – codeine. The woman explained that she had made the drug substance at home and was keeping it for her own use.
The seized substance was sent to the Forensic Research Center at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region for examination. This incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations, and a criminal proceeding has been opened. The investigation is ongoing.
