On Friday, October 9 at 15.00, on Teatralna Sq. in Uzhgorod, the regional organization "Amazons of Transcarpathia" together with the orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office will conduct the campaign for prevention of breast cancer.
Thus, the month of fight against breast cancer, which is traditionally held in October, will start in the region.
The World Day Against Breast Cancer is held annually on 15 of October. Events dedicated to this day take place in more than 44 countries.
The aim of the events is to draw public attention to the issues of breast cancer, to raise awareness on the subject in order to ensure diagnosis of the disease at an early stage and appropriate treatment.
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women. Since 2005, the National Day Against Breast Cancer has been held on October 20, and the International Day Against Cancer is held on February 4.
