The Department for Combating Crimes Related to Trafficking in Human Beings of the Transcarpathian Police, together with the employees of the Svalyava Police Department, documented the fact of pandering.
Yesterday, February 28, Transcarpathian police officers documented a fact of pandering in Svalyava as part of the operation "Migrant". The Department for Combating Crimes Related to Trafficking in Human Beings, together with officers of the Svalyava Police Department, found on one of the dating sites an ad for sex services. Law enforcers found out that a 19-year-old resident of Svalyava district was offering clients meetings in one of the hotels of the district center. In the course of the investigation, the detectives found out that the young girl dragged her 43-year-old acquaintance into her illegal activities.
Police officers found out that both residents of Svalyava district had come to the hotel to provide sex services to two clients and received UAH 1,500 for this. The 19-year-old girl arranged the meeting, took the money and did all the preparatory work. The investigator commenced a criminal proceeding over this incident under Part 1 of Art. 302 of the CCU, that is, opening or maintenance of brothels, as well as pandering. Such actions are punishable by a fine of up to fifty non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or restriction of liberty for a term of up to two years.
The money was seized by the police as evidence. A report of administrative violation was drawn up against the 43-year-old woman under Art. 181-1 of the CAO, that is, prostitution. Such an offense entails a warning or imposition of a fine of five to ten tax-free minimum incomes of citizens.
The police are checking the involvement of these women in other similar unlawful actions. The investigation continues.
