Last nigh on Mynaiska street in Uzhgorod, a car hit a pedestrian. And on Mukachivska street, two cars collided. Criminal proceedings have been initiated over both road traffic accidents.
At midnight, Uzhgorod police received a report that on Mynaiska street, a car had hit a man.
The investigating team, having arrived at the scene, found out that a car "Audi" with foreign registration driven by a 23-year-old resident of Uzhgorod district (according to preliminary information, the driver was sober) had hit a man who was crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing.
The victim in a serious condition was delivered to the regional clinical center of neurosurgery and neurology. He has not been identified yet, since he is unconscious.
The police initiated a criminal proceedings under part 1 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules). The car was delivered to the impound lot of the Uzhgorod police department.
The second accident happened around half past one at night on Mukachivska street in Uzhgorod. A car "VMW" driven by a 37-year-old resident of Uzhgorod ran into a car VAZ, which was driven by a 48-year-old resident of the city. As a result of the collision, the driver of the VAZ suffered bodily injuries of moderate severity and was taken to the hospital.
The culprit of the accident fled from the scene. He was soon detained by patrol police officers.
The criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules) has been opened over this fact.
City police investigators are establishing the circumstances of both night accidents in Uzhgorod.
