Officers of Vynogradiv district criminal police detained a 25-year-old resident of the village of Korolevo, who for several years had been hiding abroad after committing a grave crime – kidnapping of a person.
Three years ago – in July 2014 in the village of Korolevo in Vynogradiv district, an extraordinary event happened: three local men kidnapped a guy, with whom they had a property-related conflict, and demanded money threatening with weapons.
The victim managed to escape from the attackers and reported it to law enforcement officers. One detainee was arrested by the officers of the criminal investigation immediately, and his two accomplices escaped and for a long time were hiding from the investigation abroad. And now they have returned home, where they were immediately detained by the investigators. First, two weeks ago, they arrested a 24-year-old resident of Korolevo, and now they have detained the third participant in the abduction of a person – a 25-year-old resident of the village of Korolevo.
The man is suspected of crimes under Part 2 of Article 146 (Abduction of a person) and Part 1 of Article 253 (Illegal handling of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation in the case is ongoing, the choice pretrial restraint aganst the suspect is being decided.
