In Uzhgorod, the police arrested a man, who was regularly burgling cars in the regional center of Transcarpathia.
A resident of Uzhgorod reported to the police that at night, unknown persons had broken the lock on his car and stolen from there two glasses, a Swiss army knife, and a fire extinguisher. The amount of damage was estimated at one thousand hryvnia. In addition, law enforcement officers received several more similar reports, in all cases, the thieves would take all valuables from the cars.
Employees of Uzhgorod Criminal Police Department identified the burglar and put out an APB on the suspect. Patrol police arrested a 29-year-old Uzhgorod residents, who was involved in a series of car burgleries. The man had been convicted for property crime before. The police suspect the man in ten car burglaries.
Investigators have started criminal proceedings over each theft under Part 2 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The physical evidence was seized, the property will be returned to the owners. Officers of Uzhgorod Police Department request a pretrial restraint to be imposed on the suspect.
