The police arrested the men, who had stolen 18,000 UAH worth of goods from an Uzhgorod resident’s appartment

Officers of Uzhgorod Criminal Police detained two men, who had entered the appartment of an Uzhgorod resident and stolen from there 18,000 UAH worth of jewelry

An Uzhgorod resident reported to the police that unknown persons had stolen from her apartment on Zankovetska street three wedding rings, two rings, two pairs of earrings, a cross and a pendant. All pieces of jewelry were made of gold and their total value amounted to 18,100 UAH. 

Operatives of Uzhgorod Police Department found out that the unknown persons had entered the apartment by picking the lock. During the check, police officers found out that the apartment had been robbed by two Uzhgorod residents, who had had problems with the law.

A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (burglary). This offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to six years.
