The police arrested a man who got into an accident driving a stolen vehicle

Officers of Vynogradiv police arrested a man who got into an accident while trying to steal a car in the village of Nove Selo.

A resident of the village of Nove Selo reported to the police about the attempted theft of a "VAZ 2107" from his own yard. The investigative team at the scene found out that a 19-year-old local resident had entered the yard, got in the unlocked car and started moving, but lost control and collided with a concrete fence. 

The police arrested the perpetrator of the accident, he admitted to the attempted theft of the car. It was established that the young man was intoxicated. A criminal proceeding over this incident will be initiated under Art. 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is illegal appropriation of a vehicle.
