Yesterday evening, two accidents occurred on the highway Kyiv-Chop, near Uzhgorod. One of the perpetrators of the accident fled from the scene, he is wanted by the police. Fortunately, the victims are alive and are on treatment. The police have started investigation into the incidents.
Thus, at 21.48. the service "102" reported that on the Kyiv-Chop highway, between the village of Barvinok and Uzhgorod, a heavy truck had hit a man standing in the middle of the road.
The investigative team arrived at the scene. Law enforcers found out that the accident had occurred around 21.45. The driver of the truck "Mercedes", moving to Uzhgorod, hit a 73-year-old resident of the village of Barvinok, who was standing on the carriageway.
The victim was taken to the intensive care unit of the Uzhgorod district hospital with a diagnosis: polytrauma. The vehicle was taken to Uzhgorod police impound lot. The driver was tested, he was sober.
While the police were working at the scene of the first accident, at 21.53. they were reported about another similar accident, this time at the gas station near the village of Baranyntsi in Uzhgorod district.
As law-enforcers have established, an unidentified car, the driver of which fled from the scene, hit a pedestrian, a 39-year-old resident of the village of Baranyntsi.
The victim was taken to the traumatology department of the Uzhgorod District Hospital, where he was diagnosed with closed craniocerebral injury, damage to the pelvis and thigh.
The driver, who hit the man and fled from the scene, is wanted by the police. Interception plan has been put in place on the territory of Uzhgorod and adjacent districts.
The police began investigating both traffic accidents. The drivers are charged with a criminal offense stipulated in Part 1 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules).
