The police are establishing the circumstances of an accident in Irshava district, after which a woman was hospitalized (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, on August 12, Irshava police received an anonymous report that a road accident had occurred near the village of Brid.

The investigation team found out that the road accident had been caused by the driver of a Mitsubishi Carisma, who exceeded the speed limit while overtaking a Mercedes Sprinter. The 29-year-old resident of the village of Deshkovytsia lost control and drove into the ditch.

As a result of the accident, a passenger of the car, a 32-year-old fellow villager of the driver, suffered bodily injuries and was hospitalized to the intensive care unit of the Irshava District Hospital.

A medical examination will show if the driver was sober. The vehicle was taken to the Irshava police impound lot. A criminal proceeding over the incident has been initiated under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety or the operation of transport by persons driving the vehicles). The circumstances of the accident will be established by investigators.
