The police are determining the circumstances of a fatal accident in Uzhgorod district

Law enforcers are establishing the cause of a traffic accident on the "Kyiv-Chop" highway, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian. The police opened a criminal proceeding over the accident

Investigators of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region are establishing the circumstances of a car accident on the border of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo districts. As a result of the accident near the village of Dubrivka, a pedestrian died.

As the law-enforcers have found out, the tragic incident happened on January 29 in the morning. On the section of the "Kyiv-Chop" highway, near the village of Dubrivka in Uzhgorod district, there was an accident that resulted in the death of a 56-year-old resident of Mukachevo district. 

Investigators found out that the man had been hit by a GAZ truck driven by a 30-year-old resident of Mukachevo district while he was crossing the road in a wrong place. As a result of the injuries, the victim died at the site of the accident. 

Law enforcement officers opened a criminal proceeding over the incident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, violation of traffic rules that caused the death of the victim. The investigation continues.
