On January 27, 2018, in the Transcarpathian Regional Local Lore Museum, the researcher of the history of the Nevytsky castle, archaeologist and teacher of the School of Young Archeologist at the Transcarpathian Tourism Center Oleksandr Dzembas, held an open lecture on "Nevytsky Castle: the results of archaeological research, searches, problems and prospects".
During the lecture, the participants were told about the events that preceded the beginning of large-scale research of the Nevytsky castle. Oleksandr Dzembas drew attention to the emergence and development of volunteer movement around the medieval castle in the village of Nevytske.
The main topic of the conversation, of course, was the history of the castle and the families which it belonged to. They talked about all the historical events that led to an armed attack on the castle in 1644 and its destruction.
They also talked about the results of archaeological excavations, namely the unusual fortification system of the castle: moat filled with water, unusual engineering solutions in the construction of the lifting bridges of the Nevytsky castle, and so on.
The lecture was attended by over 60 participants.
Transcarpathian Regional Local Lore Museum, together with Transcarpathian Tourism Center, plans to continue holding lectures in this format.
