The Parliament adopted the law on the legalization of the cars with EU registration

The Verkhovna Rada approved in the second reading and in general the bill number 8487 on the customs clearance of cars with EU license plates.

250 deputies voted for the corresponding decision, the Depo.ua reported.

The document sets a 180 days grace period for customs clearance. During the first 60 days from the moment the new rules enter into force, car owners can pay half the excise tax rate. During the third month, 3/4 of the new rate will apply.

For the remaining 90 days, the full excise tax rates provided for in this law will aply, but without penalties.

After the entry into force of the law, fines in amount of UAH 8,500 for violation of the rules of temporary import and transit of vehicles will be imposed.
