The works on the conservation of the old Beskydy tunnel, which has been in operation for more than 100 years, have started at the Beskyd station of the Uzhgorod Railway Transport Directorate of the Lviv Railway, the Uaprom reported.
According to the head of the directorate for the construction of the Beskydy Tunnel, Mykola Didukh, at first they will dismantle the contact network and signaling equipment in the old tunnel, and then the tracks.
Dismantling of the track will be carried out by the Uzhgorod track machine station.
Recall that on May 24, the President Petro Poroshenko opened the new Beskydy Tunnel on the Beskyd – Scotarske railway line.
