The new draft Labour Code of Ukraine adopted in the first reading, would increase the length of the working day to 12 hours. This is the opinion of the director of the Institute of Labor of the NAMS of Ukraine, Academician Yuri Kundiyev, reported "24 hours" TV channel.
Indeed, Art.142 of the new labor legislation provides for virtually unlimited length of the working day and week. The provision on the obligatory written consent of the employee on the length of the working day is a kind of compromise.
By the way, this is not the first concern. Previously, the expert on social issues Pavlo Rozenko assumed that the new draft Labour Code really provided for the possibility for arbitrary, at the discretion of the employer, increase of the working day or week for employees.
