This information was reported by the division on tariffs of Uzhgorod city council.
"In the current fares on public transport, the diesel fuel price is set at 14.50 UAH / liter, and gas price – at 8.94. Due to the fact that the cost of diesel fuel has since increased by 90.3% and the cost of gas – by 74.5%, on the proposal of the carriers we calculated the new fares, which will be 4 hryvnia. It is based on the price of diesel fuel in amount of 27.60, and the price of gas – 15.64," – Lyudmila Katynska, the Deputy Head of the Economics and Business Department, the head of the division on tariffs of the City Council said.
However, currently the price of diesel fuel ranges from 20.89 to 22.5 UAH / liter, depending on the gas station.
When asked if the City Council was going to recalculate the new fare due to drop of fuel prices, the city officials said that they were not, because they already offer the minimum ticket price, which the carriers are not exactly satisfied with.
