The 5th international festival "Music Without Borders" taking place in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic is nearing its end.
The closing of the event will be held on April 30, at 17.00 and bring together Uzhgorod, Kyiv and Japan. Because at this concert, the brass band of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic Society (Head – Honored Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Spivak), the Saxophone Ensemble of Kyiv National Philharmonic of Ukraine and Kenta Igarashi (saxophone, Japan) will perform on the same stage. Our local band does not require extra recommendations – they always enjoy success in Uzhgorod.
Regarding the guests, Kyiv Saxophone Quartet have long been famous as one of the best collectives of the National Philharmonic. Established in 1985, they have been multiple winner of national and international competitions, touring extensively in Ukraine and abroad – Hungary, Poland, France, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Germany, Belarus, USA and Canada. The repertoire of the quartet includes jazz compositions, Ukrainian classical and contemporary avant-garde music. The founder and leader of the quartet is Honored Artist of Ukraine Yuriy Vasilevich.
We should also mention the representative of the "Country of the rising sun." Kenta Igarashi is a 14-year-old saxophonist, winner of international competitions, who has already taken part in several similar festival in Ukraine and impressed the audience with his extraordinary musical talent and performance skills.
At the final concert of the 5th International Festival "Music Without Borders", they will present the program "Bravo, saxophone!", which will include pieces from different eras and styles – from Bach to Piazzola from ancient Ukrainian dance of 16-19 centuries to Latin jazz. Soloists – K.Igarashi, M.Mymryk (alto saxophone). Conductor – Volodymyr Spivak. The event will be hosted by the music historian Natalia PITSUR. The concert starts at 17.00.
