Rakhiv hosted the most famous and perhaps the most vibrant festival of the region – the festival of Hutsul cheese. Cheese – without which it is impossible to imagine the life of Highlanders.
This year, the festival of cheese took place almost simultaneously with the International Hutsul culture festival, so guests of the festival had a chance to get acquainted with the culture of this colorful people.
The festival began with a parade, that marched on Rakhiv streets to the Burkut tract to the sounds of trembitas and folk songs. There, they made a bonfire, and a concert of folk groups began. Every village of Rakhiv district presented their own locality at a small exhibition.
There, you could fully immerse yourself in Hutsul life thanks to authentic songs and music, Hutsul dishes and drinks and boundless hospitality of the Highlanders.
