Alexey Doroshenko shared interesting statistics:
"Experts from the Association of Suppliers of Trade Networks identified the regions of Ukraine, where borsch is the most expensive to make. Those are Transcarpathia, the city of Kyiv, Odesa region, Kyiv region and Kherson region. The average price of the favourite dish in the country is 89.5 UAH.
We took a simple recipe for borsch: pork – 600g, potatoes and beets – 500g, cabbage – 300g, carrots and onions – 200g, tomato paste – 3 tablespoons, drinking water – 3.5-4 l, one bay leaf, salt, pepper, sour cream – 250g.
1st place goes to Transcarpathia – 99 UAH
2nd place goes to Kyiv – 95 UAH
3rd place goes to Odesa region – 94.5 UAH
4th place in the ranking goes to Kyiv region – 92.7 UAH
5th place goes to Kherson region – 92.5 UAH."
