Today, during the round table on the problems of cultural heritage of Transcarpathia, the results of the contest for the best design of the monument to people, who gave their lives for Ukraine during the anti-terrorist operation, was announced.
Recall that the contest took place from February 13 to May 13.
Thus, according to the vote, the third place and the prize of UAH 6 thousand went to Mykhailo Belen, the second place and the prize of UAH 10 thousand – to Vasyl Roman, and the winner is Vasyl Olashyn.
The work of Vasyl Olashyn was chosen because of its brevity and at the same time significance. Now, the sculptor is working on improvement of the project, the monument will be made of classic and durable materials – granite and bronze. The public will be able to see the creation of the sculptor next year, as it will take a lot of of work – not only for making of the monument, but also for arrangement of the area in front of the memorial, the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.
