The money to vacate the bishop’s residence will be found

On Thursday, March 27, in the residence of the Bishops of Mukachevo Greek Catholic Eparchy, there was a meeting, which was attended by the regional council chairman Ivan Baloha, the Bishop of Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese Milan Shashik, the Acting Rector of Uzhgorod National University Volodymyr Smolanka, members of the regional council.

The occasion and the theme of the meeting was the issue concerning the activities of the religious community, the press service of the regional council informed. Specifically, the relocation of the Uzhgorod National University Research Library book collection and vacation of still occupied space at the residence located in Uzhgorod on Kapitulna street.

In 2010, most of the book collection was moved into new premises at the renovated basement of the main building of UzhNU. Thanks to this, they managed to resolve the urgent problem of vacation of the residence premises. However, part of the book collection is still in the residence premises. Volodymyr Smolanka agrees with the position of Bishop Milan on the need to finish the relocation of the scientific library book collection, therefore they considered the possibility of solving this problem. Since it takes a lot of money, Ivan Baloha for his part promised to assist in attracting additional financial resources.
