Recently, a round table was held in the Ministry of Regional Development, where the most optimal number of sub-regional level administrative units (districts) of Ukraine was announced.
As previously planned, after the completion of the formation of united territorial communities, only four districts will be left in Transcarpathia instead of 13.
Integration of districts of the region caused quite a stir, especially in Tyachiv and Rakhiv districts, which opposed the merger of their districts.
Thus, the Center for Political and Legal Reforms proposed to form the following four districts in Transcarpathia – Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Khust and Rakhiv.
