The Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov told what average daily increase in the number of COVID-19 cases will allow the European Union to open borders for Ukraine.
Earlier it became known that the EU borders will remain closed for Ukrainians for another 2 weeks.
As Maksym Stepanov said in an interview with the RBC-Ukraine, EU countries will be able to open borders for Ukraine, when the average daily increase in COVID-19 cases in Ukraine does not exceed 480 patients.
"The dynamics of morbidity in the last two weeks has been exceeding the thresholds set in Europe. We calculated that if the number of cases in our country does not exceed 460-480 patients for two weeks, then we will fit into current EU criteria," – the Minister of Health noted.
Stepanov also added that EU criteria may change, depending on the level of morbidity in Europe and Ukraine. Every few weeks, the European Union reviews the list of countries whose citizens are allowed to enter the EU in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
