The Ministry of Finance starts negotiations on restructuring of the public debt

The Ministry of Finance starts consultations on restructuring of the public debt.

This was stated by the Minister of Finance Natalia Jaresko.

"Already tomorrow, we will begin consultation with our creditors on the restructuring of the public debt," – Jaresko said.

She also reminded that the IMF agreed to give Ukraine a loan, the amount of the first tranche is 5 billion dollars.

"This tranche will be used among other things for replenishment of gold reserves of the National Bank and for external payments of the government of Ukraine", – Jaresko said.

"This in turn will promote stabilization on the foreign exchange market of our country. The stabilization which we all need," – she said.

Jaresko also said that the task of the Ministry of Finance is to implement tax and customs reform and the reform of tax administration, "in order to continue pulling the economy out of the grey area, to create a fairer tax burden in Ukraine and to create a fairer investment climate for the real economy."

In turn, the Prime Minister Yatsenyuk added on the improvement of social standards, "When we make some money, then we will raise social standards."
