The Mihaly Munkacsy Artist Association has opened an exhibition in the Uzhgorod skansen (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On January 24, 2018, an exhibition of works by members of the Mihaly Munkacsy Artist Association entitled "CARPATHICA ART EXPO" was opened in the framework of the traditional annual Days of Hungarian Culture in the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life. This year, it is the jubilee 10th exhibition.

The annual exhibition of the association members is held under the patronage of the Society of Hungarian Intelligentsia of Transcarpathia and the Hungarian National Cultural Foundation. About 50 works of fine arts, as well as works of decorative and applied arts are presented in the exhibition hall. 22 authors exhibit their works: P. Sholtes, G. Sholtes, A. Bodo, M. Shete, Ya. Klisa, Ya. Reiti, V. Lezu, E. Kalitych, A. Skakandiy, A. Turak, A. Pauk, O. Balog, E. Nigrini, B. Vashkovich, B. Mykhailo, M. Puglyk-Belen, G. Gomoki, P. Matl, M. Sholtes, O. Tsanko, A. Kuruts, A. Fuks.

The artists work in different styles. The exhibition features traditional painting, as well as abstract works with philosophical content, various items of decorative and applied arts.

The official opening was attended by Laszlo Kuti, the First Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in the city of Uzhhorod, as well as Matyas Szilagyi, the Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in the city of Beregovo.

Yuriy Dupko, the head of the Society of Hungarian Intelligentsia of Transcarpathia, presented diplomas and certificates of honor to the members of the Association for their creative activity and high professional skills.

The event was finished with a performance of the folk ensemble "Shodro" from the village of Syurte in Uzhgorod district.

The exhibition "X Carpathica Art Expo" in the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life will run until February 3, 2019.
