105 cases of measles were registered in Transcarpathia last week, which is 30% less than that in the previous week (105 against 136 cases). Among the infected persons, children under 17 make up 42% (44 cases), adults – 58% (61 cases). Among the children, the largest share is in the age group of 5-9 years old – 36% (16 cases). Most infected persons are non-vaccinated individuals (67% of all cases).
Cases of measles have been found in all administrative districts, except for Volovets district. 32 cases were registered in the city of Uzhgorod, 14 – in Uzhgorod district, 13 – in Perechyn district, 9 – in Khust district, less than 9 in the rest of the districts.
Since the beginning of the year, as of February 21, 2019, 1125 cases of measles have been registered in the region, which is 89 per 100 thousand residents. 733 of the cases are children under 17 (65%) and 392 are adults (35%). The largest number of cases has been registered in Perechyn district (200), Tyachiv district (171), Khust district (100) and the city of Uzhgorod (159 cases).
