The Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv wished the Transcarpathians Merry Christmas:
“When the Christmas holidays come, I always remember with great trepidation my childhood, when my brother and I helped our mother to prepare a festive dinner, we put 12 dishes on the table, lit a candle. Then my father brought the hay, we put it under the table, waited for the first star to show, prayed, and my father invited everyone to the holy supper.
Christmas Eve is a wonderful tradition that Ukrainians have cherished for centuries. So today, I want this holiday to bring families together at one table, I want us to say each other kind, warm words, to thank our families and friends.
I wish you all Merry Christmas, harmony, wealth and understanding, peace in our country.
Christ is born! Let’s praise him!"
